Burberry & Plaits
Today was another eventful day on the Fashion Frontline set. I liked today’s outfit as I was wearing simplistic colours that allowed me to be more experimental with my accessories. We were also a touch more daring than usual in hair and makeup within this episode by adding a side plait, a first on the show. It is essentially a very easy hairstyle to master and adds an instant twist to any look. I have long hair but if you have short hair don’t fret. You can easily plait extensions to get a similar (if not better) style. In fact, check out this shoot for Candy Kittens last year where I wore extensions. You get a much sleeker, longer and all –round bolder look. Definitely a hairstyle worth trying!
One of the stories that I thought stood out in this episode was high end luxury brand Burberry and their made to order campaign. For the first itme, the brand allowed consumers to order personalised products straight after the show. Keeping up with the digital era and staying on trend with consumer needs, the British brand invented a smart phone app that allows fashionistis to see the history of their pieces.
I think this idea is absolutely genius as we can see video footage right from the initial design all the way through to pattern cutting. I’m also quite excited to see Burberry’s Regent street store mirros which apparently play your own personalized product video!
If anyone’s in London town please check it out and report back, would love to hear your thoughts on the innovative store.
Until next time..
