Keira Knightley for Vogue US October 2012

Keira Knightley is stunning for the cover of Vogue US. The October 2012 edition featured fall haute couture collections from Dior and Chanel, donned by the British beauty for the inside editorial. Renowned photographer Mario Testino captured images both outdoors, in whimsical forest settings, as well as in-studio, against sky blue backgrounds. Vogue Fashion Editor Grace Coddington styled Knightley in extravagant gowns adorned with feathered collars, full skirts, and bold hues. On location, the wardrobe selection took on a Victorian essence, complete with tulle hats, petticoats, and voluminous bustles; no doubt paying tribute to Knightley’s recent role in the upcoming “Anna Karenina”. Inside the magazine, Amanda Foreman wrote about Knightley’s extensive film career and the details of her latest period work. The movie version of the famed Tolstoy novel included exquisite costumes where “every hat and veil, every earring and necklace (all real, thanks to Chanel, for whom Keira represents the perfume Coco Mademoiselle) has its own starring role.” Fans are anxious to see this beloved story come to life, where Knightley breathes life into the Anna Karenina character.
